Anabolics Who Needs Steroids and Why

Anabolic steroids or simply anabolic steroids are for many people something mythical, a kind of advantage and at the same time a weakness of bodybuilders. But as often happens, the human fantasy is at odds with reality.

What are anabolics

Anabolic drugs are substances whose action is aimed at improving the anabolic processes in the body. That is, these substances accelerate the formation and renewal of structural parts of cells, tissues and muscle structures.

Anabolic substances are divided into steroidal and non-steroidal. Non-steroidal ones are mostly sold freely in pharmacies and often do not have a pronounced effect on the body. These substances include potassium orotate and the common riboxin.

Anabolic steroids or anabolic steroids are pharmacological drugs that mimic the action of the male sex hormone testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. Anabolic steroids accelerate intracellular protein synthesis, which leads to severe muscle hypertrophy.

The action of anabolic steroids is conventionally divided into two directions: anabolic activity and androgenic activity. The word "anabolic" comes from the Greek "anabolein", which translates as "to accumulate", the word "androgen" comes from the words "andros" and "genein", which translates as "to make a man" or "to desire".

Anabolic activity is the ability of anabolic steroids and other substances to improve protein synthesis and muscle hypertrophy.
